Cherating Turtle Secrets: Night Egg-Laying Watch
Witness one of nature's most magical moments — a wild sea turtle coming ashore to lay her eggs under the stars.
Every year between April and September, ancient sea turtles return to the quiet beaches near Cherating to nest — just as they have for millions of years. On this unforgettable nighttime experience, you'll stand just metres away as one of these magnificent creatures hauls herself onto the sand, digs her nest, and lays her eggs in the moonlight.
Led by a local turtle guide, you'll receive a full briefing on turtle conservation before settling in for the watch. What unfolds is raw, unhurried, and completely wild — not a show, but a privilege.
The site is a 20-minute drive from Cherating. Own transport is recommended — but if you need a ride, just let us know and we'll arrange it for you.
Please note: If a turtle does not arrive during the waiting window, an 85% refund will be issued. No refund is given if you leave early during the waiting period.
